Hey!

I just noticed a difference between my Cell C and Vodacom contract.
When dialing 14302 (cell c minute line) you get
1) Free Minutes
2) Free SMS's
3) Unbilled Amount
4) and next debit order amount

on Vodacom you ONLY get Free Minutes. (The Call to 126 also costs you which Cell C it doesnt)

So where do you actually find out for example having a SMS 200 (which I am getting), how many SMS's you have left.
Currently for my unbilled amount I just login to my SP's site and check my unbilled, but getting that info will also be nice.

Vodacom 3G if you have any info aswell as anyone else please help...
Greatly Appreciated
Mr.G

i'm on prepaid, so i don't know if the menu's are going to be the same, but have you tried the "my phone" menu (dial *111#)?

or else log onto the vodacom4me site and check the balances under "my account"?

Just send the message SB to 31050.You will get an SMS with the amount of smses you have left in your bundle

You can also dial 111 or 1082 if your Vodacom contract is with Vodacom SP, there through the IVR you can get your latest balance and current usage amount (current month's calls excluding you normal subscriptions ie, the amount that isn't fixed everymonth) you can use option 2

You can also SMS the following short codes to 31050 - cost R0.50 per outgoing message - bundled SMS's do not apply

AB - Account Balance
CB - Call Balance (latest usage amount)
LI - Last Invoice Amount
LP - Last Payment Amount
AM - Available Minutes & bundled SMS messages left
AS - Available Seconds
BD - Your debit order details with VSPC
SB - Bundled SMS Messages left

Thanks :) This infomation is very helpful, greatly apprectiated

ok, will try the www.vodacom4me.co.za one now...

I just sms'd the codes above and it tells me (AB) that I have 0 free minutes left on my package, which is not true

I am a Nashua Client, so that is probably why

Could anyone please tell me aswell the TOTAL amount of Free Minutes you can have at one time?

Cell C Casual Chat was 100x2 = 200minutes max
Vodacom Talk 120 120x? = ? minutes

Vodacom let you carry your free minutes for 5 months, and you can only have a maximum of 5 times your monthly allocation. So if you are a talk 100S subscriber, you cannot have more than 600minutes (36000 seconds) at any given time. Plus as far as carrying over minutes is concern, you always use the current months minutes first, and when you have depleted those minutes(seconds) only then will you start using minutes from month 2, 3, etc.

If say for example you have 50 minutes left over from August, and in September you get your new allocation of minutes, and you use 50 minutes again, and have 50 left over, in October you will have an effective 200 minutes to use, however if by January, you haven't used those 50 minutes from August, you will loose them.

AFAIK MTN let you carry your minutes for 1 month, and they calculate usage from mid month, unlike Vodacom, who do their's at the beginning of the month.

Thanks for the wonderful explanations, really makes things more clear

I was just wondering again about the FIVE month carry over. Has Vodacom maybe not changed it to 3 because on Vodacom4me it only gives 3 month history.

Can someone please confirm... thanks

You can actually carry over minutes for upto 6 months... But the balances section on the 4me website has been rather erratic for the past 10 days, for instance it says I'm not subscribed to a MyMeg bundle? Perhaps your problem relates to this issue?

You should call 111 and have them check - because even if you have finished your "free" minutes for a particular month it shows as zero.

Hopefully they'll sort the problem out soon!

Hey, thanks for your response... I am NOT refferin to zero balances, I am talking about the fact that in the free minutes section, it only goes back 3 months
This month is November

I only have
November,Octobe,September listed... that concludes a 3 month rollover in a way, but you have confirmed that that you CAN carry over for 6 month?

So that means I can have 120x6 = 720minutes if I carry over on my Talk 120

That's right you cannot have more the 6 time your monthly inclusive "free" minutes at any given time, so in your case 720 minutes would be the maximum you could have, the same applies for the Talk 240, Talk 500 and Talk 1000, and for the per second packages too...

Did you use the 4me website balances section or the Vodacom Service Provider Website balances section? I just checked, on my number on the 4me website, it gives 6 months info, but on the VSPC website, the info only goes back 3 months:confused:

I am with Nashua so I cant access VSPC, I use www.vodacom4me.co.za ...

http://myadsl.mrg.za.net/minutes.jpg <<< that is what I see... Nashua obviously do not allow me to see minutes

Looking at your attachment, you only got 68 minutes in September... Is it a new contract or did you migrate mid month from another tariff package? Looks like you got pro-rata minutes and SMS's as part of the bundles

If it's either that could explain why you cannot get a balance passed September?

The same with your SMS bundle - did you also activate it mid way through October?

yes, this is a new contract, and yes I activated that bundle during that period, however within my family we have another Vodacom contract with Autopage which has been active for over 2 and a half years now, that contract also shows 3 months.
