People see the words 300Mbps on the box in the shop and think, "Great! This is precisely what I need!"

2 hours after installing it they here on MyBB posting threads asking why their connection is slow and intermittent.

E.g. netgear no longer produces them for quite a while I think? Remember trying to get one back in 2015 or so, and Netgear literally patched it out of the product (as a wireless repeater, not extender, think you mean repeater, extenders/AP are great).
Needs to be an AP (so Ethernet connected) or mesh system now.
