Does anyone know any supplier who sells top quality VRLA batteries and has them in stock ?

GP Province please ...

tIA !

If I understand VLRA batteries, they are basically any Sealed Lead-Acid batteries, if thats the case, the following place sells Delkor Royal DC31 100AH batteries - http://www.nrgtechnologies.co.za/ They go for R1750, I don't think you can get any cheaper.

They are very good performing batteries, used for UPS and Marine, so they are quite robust. They also come with 2 sets of terminals, not sure of the terminology, but the fatter ones for boats and the thinner ones for UPS, so they are quite nice to connect in parallel as you can use each seperate terminal to bridge to the next battery.

When I ask for top quality, im looking at specs like 400 cycles at 100% dod . Something like the Omnipower battery but theres no stock anywhere.

I also need 200Ah+

Any idea of places in Cape Town that sell batteries for good prices?

Got any specs to back that up? I tried to find info and completely failed, the local distributors were also very unhelpful, nobody seems to actually know anything about these batteries...
TIA for any actual info.

As far as I know they're shyte batteries. Here's to waiting for the spec sheet now ...

I would love go see the spec sheet of a lead acid battery that can do 400 complete 100% dod without any harm. Most are rated at Max 80% dod.

Im using VRLA GEL that can give me 400 cycles at 100% DoD . 2400 cycles at 30% DoD.

I even asked my Supplier to ask the manufacturer in China ( twisting the questions every time to see if the answers a consistent) and they say their batteries are happy to reach 75% DoD every single time. Anything below that is not recommended but 75% is not an issue.

if you want spec sheet, PM me email ...

I assume the 400 cycles will mean the batteries will be forked at the end of the 400 cycles. That I could believe. That is really all I was saying. It's generally better and cheaper to have a lower dod on the batteries and more batteries.

Ok my bad :)

The problem is that most batteries sold in the market claim just 250 cycles at 50% DoD and anything below that is forbidden. These same batteries are sold as Deep Cycle / High Cycle , which is absurd. Anyways ... Im going to trial some LFP soon ... Lets see how that goes ..

Personally I am waiting for some affordable liFePo batteries. Can't wait till we get some affordable lithium's here.

That is marketing fluff not a spec. no cycle information anywhere to be seen. Calling a battery deep cycle yet giving no cycle information should be criminal.

There is even a part in there where it talks about the "car" - i.e. my take on this, it isn't a deep cycle battery at all but a car battery that someone is re-branding as "deep cycle"

I'd love to be proven wrong of course :) If anyone has any real specs for this battery please bring them on.
