I'm in the market for a new car and I want something nice and sporty and willing to spend around R300k.

I am also a BMW fanboy so these two cars appeal to me:D

I've been shopping around and I just can't decide which I like more. You can get both of them ~ 2008 and ~ 50k kM for anywhere between R250-R300k.

I have my bike for everyday transport so the fuel bill isn't really a consideration.

They are both great cars, both are at-least to me very good looking motorcars and while the 135i is a little quicker off the mark that doesn't phase me much as both are quick enough.

I don't have dogs/kids that will park their backsides on the rear seats so either will be big enough.

Which one would you recommend and why?

Thx

I would buy the 135i, just because I like the look of it more and like smaller cars more. The 3 series definitely has a bit better build quality. But for me it would have to be the 135i. Just be careful on the N54 engine with the twin turbos. Some of them had some issues with the turbos. Good cars though. And good luck

Maar soos jy weet M135i of M235i vir my volgende :)

Neither, Toyota 86. Looks better and you'll have a warranty and service plan to cover you :p

/off before the arrival of imminent trolls

No kids or dogs? In that case why not go for something like the Z4? You could probably find a Z4 M Coupe in budget if you're patient.

Otherwise I'd probably go for the 335i, but it's damn close.

I took one of those for a test drive and while I really think they provide excellent value for money but you simply can't compare the build quality, ride comfort & performance with the 135 or 335.

That's because it's a different type of car, it's made for fun and not straight line speed :)

I personally don't see the point in spending R300k+ on a 5+ year old car, especially a premium car where you'd need a fair amount saved up in case something goes wrong.

But to get back on topic, I'd go with the 135i too. Same engine, faster, looks better

335i.

Prefer the look and it has aged better (subjective)
Better build quality.
Better chassis, longer wheel base = better handling.

The 135i is a rocket ship if you get one don't plant it into a tree.

Found a 2007, dark blue E92 335i. 40 000KM on the clocks. Excellent condition.

Sat Nav,Xenon,Auto, PDC all round,Sunroof, electic seats, FSH & tinted windows. No USB tho :-(

The guy let the motorplan expire because he wasn't driving it much. They are however will to throw in a 2 year warranty.

All this for R260k

What do you guys think?

Offer 240 and take it. Not many with such a low mileage.

This one I can tell you. 135i if you are mainly after the fun factor. A friend of mine had the 135i coupe and his brother had the 335i e92. This was the topic of many chats but everyone agreed that the 135i was a better drive. Handling is considerably better- chalk and cheese. That said the 335i e92's looks have aged better.

If I had 300k to spend on a sporty car I'd go Focus ST or GT86.

335 coupe

Its a beast and one series BMWs are for girls

I kind of agree one the 1 series being a girls car. Just didn't wanna be the first to say it :)
