15 digit vin

I recently tried to check my car's history on transunion, my car is a 1995 Nissan sentra,got a message that says "vin invalid,vin must be 17 digits", only then I noticed that mine Is only 15 digits , can someone shed some light?

should be 17.
check your papers and disk.

Screw the papers and disk, check the engine plaque itself to make sure you are absolutely 100% correct.

thanks a lot to the replies, checked inside the hood I found the full 17 digit vin, for some reason the first two digits are omitted on the disk
