I have the 2.8ghz 2010 edition of the macbook pro 17", it's really big!

Would I be better off 'upgrading' to the 13" 2011 edition, is this computer good enough for everything?

Well CPU-wise (it's faster!) yes. RAM-wise, yes. GPU-wise, you take a knock, but hey it's not that important. The screen resolution takes a huge knock which kind of sucks (1280x800). Check out the 13" Macbook Air, the CPU is pretty great, it's got a better screen (1440x900) and an SSD by default.

Unless you can tick yes to: a mobile desktop replacement with, good graphics and lots of vertical resolution you probably don't need a 17".

If I can recall correctly you were advised on the BB Forum to buy a 15" MBP for the sake of portability. I understand that you may have thought that bigger is better and went ahead and bought the 17". This will be an expensive mistake on your side but some buyers gain.
Good luck with your decision.

Indeed you are correct. No one seems to want to buy it though. :(

As the range has been upgraded in the meantime and you are now one model behind, I think you will be lucky to raise R12000.
But best of luck!

Not only that, but anyone who wants a laptop they can carry around is not going to be interested.
