Hello All,

im looking for a 17" laptop with an i7 and 16gb ram

nothing crazy but specs should be the above

my current laptop is a i7 2760 QM 2.4 (8cpus) with 8 gig ram. Its a Dell XPS L702x

but the time is up on it

so something similar is needed but it wont be used for gaming

Why not just double the ram and stick an ssd in there.

Laptops are not exactly jumping in leaps and bounds technology wise anymore.
 
you going to pay a premium to write word documents? if you not into gaming then a lesser spec should be fine. CNA had 17" laptops. don't think they had an i7 but you can check on the website.

na using excel and reporting tools

so need lots of ram cos lots of data
 
For 17" try find an HP, they're the best at that size (if not for gaming as you said).
