18000BTU Aircon Installation

I want to get an 18000BTU Samsung Inverter unit installed. Can it run of a normal plug point? It will be either the AR4500 or AR5500 units. Some installers want to connect to DB board while others are saying that it can work of a normal plug point. The quote to get the cable to DB board is quite high but there is plug point just below where the unit must be installed. Not sure what to do.

18000BTU = 5.2kW

However you need to look at the unit's required power rating, since produced mechanical kW and electrical kW differ in this case.

So comparable units use about 10Amps running, but that doesn't include startup currents.
