192 to 384 upgrade today

Hey guys,

I know theres a few threads posted regarding the upgrade today. Thought i'll share some info. I called Telkom early this morning, i spoke to a young lady there. I asked her to upgrade my line (ofcourse i knew she would tell me that it will be done automatically), I just played dumb and said "oooh, thats nice", i asked her when, She said that all lines will be converted in the course of the day. I asked her if shes sure it will take 1 day, she said yes, cause its not a big thing to convert them really.

I asked her to put an upgrade order in anyways, she said she will ask her supervisor... held on for 2 mins... She came back saying that if i put an order in, then it will take a few days longer to upgrade my line. I kept thinking this,:confused: Funny thing that it would take longer if i put an order in, besides, they gonna upgrade everyones lines today anyways right, or so she says. Or are they gonna just skip the ordered lines and do them in a couple of days.. lol

I guess i put an order in, just to put my mind at ease. Says it should take about 72 hours max. But if they upgrade today.... JOY!!!:D

Has anyone been upgraded asyet?
 
probably told you it'd take longer so you'd get off her a$$ :)

i'm sure thousands of people have been phoning and enquiring.. lol.

Naah, she was actually quite nice, i actually told her that its the best service i received from telkom thus far, and thats saying alot. She went out of her way to get info for me. Her names Fernaaz.

I guess i just feel better with my order placed :)
 
I recieved a call from Suzette , Telkom after logging a fault , response " We are upgrading our systems , cannot confirm a time for 384 to be implemented "

They made the announcement almost 2 months ago, they had almost 2 months to upgrade their systems. Besides that it's only a software configuration! :mad:
 
my falks were on the 192 line, i called my mom and she ran the telkom speed test. It's now on 30-35k/s download speeds.

So it looks like they only half upgraded them.

But she says that she can already see a diffrence when downloading news broadcasts off the net.
 
I was not home, after i made the call to telkom this morning. My wife says that late morning a lady from telkom called the house, but she didnt take a message, so i wonder what for? Because its not everyday that you ACTUALLY get a call back from telkom.
 
call in to find out. or pm me and i will tell you what your sync speed is.....
(maybe i should start a thread......)
 
YAAAAAAAYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my line is upgrades to 384!!!!!!!!

A lady called this morning, said she tried yesterday morning but i wasnt available. Which means i coulda had mine upgraded yesterday morning :)
