1985

Creativity truly has died since 1984

I'd say it died toward the end of the 2000s. Manufacturers still used to produce some wild concept cars up until then.

Maserati Birdcage 75th, a concept between Maserati and the famous Pinifarina design house that was unveiled in 2005.

nostalgia bait is all fine and well.

but there has been plenty of creativity since 1984.

Grunge and Nu Metal.
the Musically unmatched year that was 2001. every single Genre of modern music had songs that are still played now.

Car designs like the Bugatti Veyron, the Aston Martin DB9, McLaren F1.
Bikes like the Triumph Rocket III, the Hayabusa, and the classic Ninja that all have amazing creative things that changed the way the industry worked.

Things like the Phones of the early 2000's before the first iPhone, that all had unique and creative things going. like the LG chocolate, the Motorola Razor, or even the 3310's with the interchangeable covers that allowed people to be super creative.

I mean sure we have also had 40 years of the automotive industry steadily reducing the amount of colour options on cars to a point where all cars are now silver, white or black.

creativity has not died, you have just become desensitized to the creativity around us due to the rate the world is changing at.

To commemorate the first-ever mobile phone call 30 years ago — on 1 January 1985 — Vodafone in the UK, on whose network the call was made, has released a list of the first phones it sold to consumers.

They included the VM1, a 1985 model that weighed in at 4,9kg. It cost ÂŁ1 475, or ÂŁ4 141 when adjusted for inflation.

Agree. It did not die in 1985, but it certainly went missing sometime between then and now.

I think the key thing that stands out for me today, is that they don't know when to stop "designing" a car. Thus we ended up with plastic bottle cars.

My Dad bought a CD player for his hifi in 1985. He was very proud of it. Grundig I think this one
