Hi. New to the forums and looking for some help please.

I have a 1986 Toyota Corolla 1.6GL. It was my Dad's car before he passed. I'm fixing it up to use as my daily.

I'm looking for body spare, specifically 2 boot hinges and the torsion bars for the boot lid.

Thanks in advance

scrapyard probably your best bet, otherwise import?
parts are standardized so it shouldn't be too hard.
Most of the scrapyards stock the newer models and those parts don't fit or work on this model. All parts were discontinued by Toyota too so no chance of the agents even trying to help.

I'll look into possibly importing but very slim chance of getting the right parts.

Any other ideas? Any Toyota Clubso on the forums?

import from befoward.jp maybe, they also import Toyota parts, so maybe they still stock.
sure with a lot of digging around youll find something, standard denso part so I'm sure its available somewhere.

Have you had a look at the newer ones? usually manufacturers don't bother about designing new things like that every time they build a new car so they might just be a fit, even stuff from different manufacturers from models of that era could fit, cars share more parts than we realise.

Look at the Sentra, Langley, Mazda of that time and other Japanese models.

I can't help, but did own that model in the early 1990s. You really don't see many of those on the road anymore, though they were good cars for their time.

Upgraded mine because it didn't have aircon. Does yours have aircon?

The newer Corollas have a slightly different boot lid setup. If all else fails I'll have to get the newer ones and do some mods

I've got the Afro120x4 aircon that came standard with that model :ROFL::ROFL:

Yeah, I am sure you can make a plan, even if it means modifying it completely, those shock absorbers work well.
