Dont understand axxess uncapped

I have an adsl 384k uncapped fibre express account when i log into the account then it shows that i have only used like 6 gig in total but in the day i can only get an max speed of 192k max, thats on the 29th day of the month

must i not bet getting like 384k or higher depends on my line speed right?

If you are not above your limit (in your case I think it is 5G, then you should get 384 kbits/s during the day) ;)

i know about that yes wel from the 15th till now it shows that i used about 6gig in total on the hole month up to date... so i don't know how they calculate that ****...
 
Killer, the best way I can explain is that you need to keep track of how much you download on a daily basis. The threshold works over the last ten days - that means if you add all your total usage over the last ten days, you will be throttled during the day if you have gone over 5G's.
I had some issues with this as well - but I have given up trying to stay within my limit. Afterall, I do most of my downloading at night(when I am home.)

Axxess bandwidth monitor is up to sh** these days, said I did 11G this month, I'm pretty sure I've done a lot more than that.

When do you use your internet - during the day? There are not many benifits on this package that I can see if you are using it in the daytime. Are you doing a lot of downloads - Sorry for all the questions, I am only trying to give some pointers along the way.... :)

i also noticed that. they're using reverse psychology on us: if we think we are downloading so little each month, then we'll start believing it and actually start downloading that little, hence these accounts will be oversold and underused and they will make some more moneys :D

mostley i only use it after 8 coz its to slow in the daytime i download like from vryday 8 till monday moring 8 like 1.6gig and in the week from monday to vryday like 1gig so ja

It sounds like you are being throttled - which means you are not in your 5G threshold. What is nice is the fact that you get your full line speed at night and over the weekend. Even better if you have a 4MB line!! That's how I am using mine now - at night and over weekends. I don't mind the slow speed during the day - I am at work anyway. The wife does the odd email and browsing and the 23Kbit/s that she gets is good enough for that. :rolleyes:
I reckon you should be downloading a bit more in the month though. R999.00 is pretty steep if you are not using it!! ;) Do you download torrents or news files??
 
Sorry Killer, I forgot to mention, you can give Axxess a call - they should be able to confirm if you are being throttled. (Very friendly folk those Axxess people :p)

You may be right there - what with all the hype Rendier has been getting :p You may just be right......

Assuming a 4 week month, are you saying you basically download somewhere around 15Gb per month?

1,6gb the entire weekend?

Damn dude surely with uncapped on the weekend you should be doing more than that or why would you have uncapped?

You are saying do about 3gb a week x 4 = 12 x 29 = 348. Why are you spending so much to download so little?

thats what axxess said i used my usage for the month till up to date are more like 10gig short for 100gig
 
The bandwith monitor on your control panel does not really work on the uncapped accounts, i realised it crashes as soon as it starts minusing usage, they told me to check my usage at http://users.isdsl.net logging on with my full username and password, you can check your history, monthy and even daily.
