Because 1Gbps net is mostly useless for home use. 
Plus there have been threads about 1Gbps ages ago.

I've seen a lot of 200/200 speed tests. This isn't that much more in price.
Around half the price of 1gbs lol.
You can get 1Gbps on Vumatel. Vanilla has 1000/100 uncapped for R1973. There are a few other ISPs that provide 1Gbps as well.

I wouldn't know how awesome it is as it's not available where I am.1 Gbps?

OT:This is a tech forum. You can post the bleeding edge of tech that you own here. No matter how much it costs.
I started this thread after seeing how affordable 1gbs has gotten since it was 50k not too long ago.
Maybe if you can also include what motivated to get it.

We pay for 100Mb line but it's 1Gb, so anything over 100Mb is a bonus
That's a business line, for 1500+ users and devices. ISP is RSAWeb, can't remeber if it's over DFA fibre or their own, we have 6 fibre lines coming into the main building, Neotel, IS x 2, Vodacom, RSAWeb and Telkom, test was done over RSAWeb line
Cybetsmart's HO is just down the street, we do have a "Lightspeed box" outside against the building, not sure when that was done, so we could also get that I suppose if we need another provider.

Maybe we should keep this for home based connections? Just now we have guys posting speedtests from their co-locations with 10Gbps peering links.
