1mb to stream live tv

For 400 Kbps streams yes, more no.

Test it at www.twit.tv. Various speeds to try. Select the live option at the top and then the speed at the right.

Why stream live TV, when you can download all the TV you want and watch what you want when you want it:D

For decent quality you would need a 4MB line.. but 1MB will do (as long as you don't bother using the internet at the same time)

One should get your news unfiltered and not pre-approved by THE MAN
Sport should be enjoyed with some mates at the local Pub with a cold one...

Where would you get the streams from anyway? any particulars you have in mind?

If you do, give me the links and I will test them for you. I'm on 1mb uncapped from mweb.

XBMC + SuperTV Plugin (100 channels +-) and no VPN etc needed. Syfy works very well :)

1MB handles most of the SD streams perfectly fine however when it buffers,it takes about 30secs more or less to fill the buffer up (this can be set however though i haven't tried).

In fact , i have convinced the grandfather to ditch paying R100 for DSTV and use the HP MS + XBMC to watch TV, will see how it pans out for the rest of the month :D.

You are obviously using a VPN though, which bypasses shaping (or you have an unshaped account?)

1Mb/s to stream live SPORT - need to select speed manually.

This thread relates to info I'm currently after, so have revived it.

Last night, tried to stream some Masters Golf on both LiveTV.ru & Stream To Watch.
I found there to be too much buffering / a break in the feed to watch without becoming irritated.

I then tried livetvchannelsfree.com/sports & it linked to Sky Sports 1 successfully, but after a while also started buffering.

My line is with Telkom, and am able to watch YouTube on 360p without any problems, so it's definitely not Telkom or ISPs I can connect to. I suspect that these other sites are streaming at about 480 minimum, so want to know if there are any live TV streaming sites that allow you to change speeds manually, like on YouTube, between 240 up to HD, and everything in between ?

I need to be able to select approximately 360. Please provide links if anything available for sport.

TwitTV suggested in post # 2 would be fine as speed selections can be made, but it's not for sport.

You don't list your line speed.

I'd say you need at least 2Meg to stream comfortably.
