1ST car questions!

Hi guys, i am back again. When you bought your first car, what is the very first thing you did? any modifications? upgrades?

secondly, how long did you take before you started doing long distance drives? like 1000km+? or did you wait until you were comfortable enough before driving long distances?

I have a road trip to Namibia lined up to swakopmund.. It is 2400Km from Durban by car. So once i make the car purchase i am tempted to jump on the road trip. Is it advisable though to immediately start doing those long drives?

Depends on you as a driver more than the car. It takes experience to recognise that you are getting tired and need a break.

I wouldn't advise a driver with less than 2 years experience to travel over 1000km.

Also, make sure that your car has been recently serviced before a long trip like that. Check your spare tyre pressure, tread and make sure that you have everything you need to change a tyre before you set off. Also, make sure you can actually change a tyre.
