Was so excited last week. Got an DSL installed in less than a week.
So great and thanks to Telkom, but was that a fluke? I think it might have been...

Comes Friday... Just getting to grips with the line install. Click... Line down.

So the IT geek in me kicks in... Reset router, connection established again.
5 minutes later, click... Connection dead
Router reset, set up all the details again, no connection. Line is there as well as a dail tone, nothing else. Turned off the router for 30 min, no connection...
Waited 3 hours, manual connection and success

Sat morning... No connection. Line dead. No dail tone.
Waited about 3 hours tested again, line active, took some 30 minutes to get router to connect

Sunday morning, no connection, line dead, no dial tone.
3 hours, line back up and connecting
30 minutes later line dead again.
2 hours later, connection established

Monday,
12h00, tried to remote to system. Connection dead
17h40, get home, line still down. Logged task with telkom
20h20, line still down
No dial tone or connection.

So bad first week. Think it is time to start making some waves.
No wonder SA is in such a sorry state. How should one get access to information with Telkom, MtN and Vodacom with the worst service levels ever?

How should we keep up with the rest of the world with the kind of service we get from the SP's?

Lets hope I get a connection soon...
And now I guess I should take time off work for Telkom to come and fix their lines

I've had ADSL for over 4 years now and I'm experiencing my first week without ADSL. It's super frustrating. Trying to explain to them that although my line appears to synch, it doesn't authenticate. Today they gave me a test account, and it still doesn't work. On Sunday they closed my fault ticket stating the issue was resolved, but nothing had changed. :(

Wonder if I can drag their sorry asses to the CPA. I just lost a job to edit photo's due to them and their line problems!

Post your line stats here. Sounds like you have a physical line problem. How far are you from the exchange?

Just be patient, he might not respond right away.

I have heard some folks complain that he doesn't respond to their PM's. I do believe that he might just have a "lot on his plate" at the moment.

So the tech phones me. Yes open the gate.
I am at the office, about two hours away.
So I just lost it. Is Telkom under the impression that we just sit at home waiting for their techs to rock up and fix their stuff ups?
I mean for FFS, they leave me without connection, so I can't download file that I need to edit, and then by day when I work to get money to pay for their service they expect me to take time off work (what will cost me about R2500 in labour charges for the day)
So lets hope the tech pitches tomorrow so that I can get back to work on Thursday, or else all hell is going to break loose.

The bloody virus!
Closed the task with line repaired.
And line is still dead! The bloody cheek of the technicians.
I am so in the mood to bill them for my time wasted waiting for the virus to come and fix my line

I had 2 tickets closed on me without having the line repaired, I feel your pain. When I finally got a technician to my premisis, he couldn't fix the problem. He even tried one of their own routers.

TelkomZA is helping me at the moment. Hopefully it'll be fixed before the weekend.
