I plan to use 2 accounts on my ADSL, 3 GB for local (Games ect) and 30gb for International (browsing & authentication for games).
I would accomplish this by routing all 165.x.x.x and 196.x.x.x through the 3 GB and the rest through the 30 GB. I don't know if I should do the routing with Windows server or another 3rd party application or if I should set the Router to dial itself and do the routing (depends on how advanced its routing capability is). If anyone can give me feedback on this idea it would be appreciated

A few potential problems might exist

1) Are you planning on using p2p? If so, the switch from one ip to another is bound to break connections
2) telkoms new billing structure might mean the end of 30 gb accounts - so the whole exercise might be moot anyway.

1) Local Dc++, all Adsl users are 165.x.x.x don't know about I-burst (i'll just add that range too), thinking of setting up both connections on a server along with Dc and Netlimiter and restrict DC to only use the one connection
2)yeah, but if they don't go ahead with the "Hard-capping" and only the smaller caps I can still use 2 3gb accounts

Not all ADSL user are 165.x.x.x IS ADSL accounts for eg are 196.x.x.x

btw i was thinking.. it might be cheaper just to buy lotsa small adsl accounts rather than one large one. i need to check that again though./pending on packages offered

Done: It seems to be working but it took me a while
Windows does not allow you to setup 2 connections to the same router, and for some reason when i set up connections on my router, It only worked with the 1st one, so I set up my International account on the router and my local account on the pc, then set up routes for all the 196.x.x.x and 165.x.x.x to use the connection on the pc and the rest to go to the router, Works beatifully, I Just played Battlefield 2 on sgs for 1/2 hour and It put about a 1mb dent on my International account and the rest went to the local account

Can someone explain this ina little more detail please coz I'm gonna have to do the same thing next month with a 3gb account and a 20gig one and I have the Telkom 4Port ethernet router,is it still possible with this router?
Thanks

How to

lets say con1 = International(30gb account) and con2= Local(cheap 3gb account)

What I did was (and I believe there are better ways):
* I setup con1 on the router
* and con2 to use ppoe on my server (you can use windows server or winXP and 3rd party routing app
* I setup static routes to route all 196.x.x.x and 165.x.x.x to con2 and routed the rest to use the adsl router(con2)

this works very well for SA p2p hubs and gaming, for the exception of valve games(as the authenticate on your one ip address and connects to the game throug your other(which they then see as attempted piracy and kills your ticket).

hope this is a bit clearer

eish - me stuck - does it then auto connect & disconnect etc while you are running?

using windows server, Routing & roemote access
You can set your connection to persistent, it keems the connection up

It should

I think so if you can configure multiple connections and routes on it.
I have a cheapy mecer on that allows for 9 connections to be setup, but for some reason only the 1st one worked
