2 concurrent connections on IS Express Uncapped

Technically they all come with 2 concurrent connections. In practice it is 1 connection though. The second concurrent connection is there to ensure you are not locked out eg. when your line suddenly drops and eats up 1 concurrent connection before timing out/disconnecting properly.

Not afaik no. Otherwise those uncapped accounts would start to look rather inviting ... imagine getting 2 x 4Mbps lines and 1 1/4Mbps uncapped account ... sharing the bandwidth and costs - nice

damm im going to have to pay crazy prices for bandwidth with these 2 lines:(

Old thread I know...but

The latest news is that Axxess is indeed offering 2 concurrent lines on their dsl accounts. They halve the bandwidth between the two lines when both lines are connected concurrently.

This is the theory of the whole thing. I've just got to test it and validate it as fact though.

Will post an update soon(if I remember).

regards
A.

btw. The best offer i've seen so far for multiple line users:)

when you login via 2 concurrent connections, the linespeed on each connection is cut in half.

ie 2 x 2Mbps as opposed to 2 x 4Mbps

Hi. I confirm that it does work in that way. It's a wonderful concept if you have two lines. You just pay for 1 internet access subscription.

The advantage is that if you are using a single line at any time, you will get the full speed of the service.

In theory you should actually gain in speed.........

The maximum speed you can get on a 4096k line is 3500k

So you are actually limited by the line since your lines MAX download is 3500k. By connecting 2 lines each line will get 2048k so it will be limited by the account.

So technically you will gain 500k or 60kbs download. [this is when you combine the totals.]
