2 Different logins - 1 modem?

I know of adsl users who via an ethernet adsl modem log on with 2 different accounts at the same time, obviously from different PC's on the same network, but sharing the modem.

Was just wondering, will this work with an USB modem?

I got two PC's linked via a crossover cable (both running win2000pro). Internet sharing works perfectly when sharing the PPPoE client, but should I share the modem, would I be able to log in with two different accounts from the two PC's at the same time sharing the USB modem?

nope not the same ... FYI i have had 20 connections from a single PC connected down a single link and load balanced traffic based on TOS [of course 15 links got no traffic]

remember that the DSLAM [ADSL line] is limeted to 512 so speed will always be less than 512 ...
