2 HSDPA modems and MS Vista load balancing ?

Hi,

I am looking for software, configuration, no router solution, to increase network speed, using 2 HSDPA modems in my notebook running MS Vista.
I am connected via 1 usb modem (inserted into usb slot)
and via Wlan (WiFi) HSDPA modem inserted into D100 router by Huawei and
WiFi enabled.

Ok.
I can try using 2 or more usb modems inserted into usb slots at my notebook.

Are you aware of any software solution for network load balancing in MS Vista ?

nope
cannot loadbalance unless both sides of the connections are aware of the "balancing" ( ie your isp needs to know about it and balance you connections form his side. Remeber - youre not pulling the data from him, he is sending it to you. If he doesnt know to use 2pipes to send the data, then everything is gonna come back down the pipe that asked for it. - by pipe i mean connection )

the best youre gonna get is route balancing....

Have to test my Asus router with 2 usb connecters and will try to install 2 hsdpa modems and configure access splitt and traffic balance load.

I can get my notebook connected to 2 and more Internet providers,
with WiFi interface and usb connector for hsdpa modems.
So 2 hsdpa modems are connected, one over usb and another over D100 router (usb slot inserted)
and I have local + Internet connection on both interfaces.

If packet routing is a problem in MS Vista what I need is basic swaping between Internet providers and have one web page loaded with one link and other with one another link.

Ballmer is comming to Europe in 3 days time , so I will ask him that question at a conference.

We are currently doing a thesis study very much related to the study you are doing with 2 hsdpa usb modems.Could you please help us? How were you able to enable both usb modems at the same time.

is there any alternative in using the two HSDPA modems on the Windows platform? I have two Huawei modems. I was trying to open both modems. But the problem is that only one HSDPA modem is allowed to be connected. is there any way in which I can connect both modems at the same time.
After we establish both connections, we would try to load balance them so that the speed of transfer will increase.

I tried this a while ago, connecting multiple modems, also with no luck.
If I remember correctly, if you have multiple modems, then in Dial up connection, properties, you can tick muliple modems to use (i'm connected over wireless router now, so cant check atm)
You know when u connect with the modem, the message comes up "now connected at 3.6Mbps or 7.5Mbps".... well, when choosing the connection to use both modems, it came up with "now connected at 15Mbps" so I figured : cool, double speed!
But alas, soon after, get message that one modem could not connect, and so not getting double speed.
I even tried using MTN and VC or Telkom sim, in order to rule out the problem being two connections on one network. No luck.
I guess windows does not want to this. (check "multilink dialing" in windows help) maybe analogue dialling only?

I wonder how they 'bond' multiple ADSL lines, one would think this should be similar? Even if you need multiple 3G Routers, like B970, plug the 2 LAN cables from the 2 routers, into load balance 'thingy', spread the connection between the 2?

So, let the research into this continue :D
