2 Installation dates but no ADSL

Hi everyone i am new to this board and this is my first post. I have found lots of helpfull information on this site, but nothing can help with Telscum. I was given an installation date for the 21/06/06 and the technician didnt show, so I complained numerous times and got another installation date today and the technicians didnt show again. Have tried almost everything to get them to explain why the dates were missed, only to told the same thing over and over again "We will escalate the issue and you will be contacted within 48hrs" and I was never contacted.
I always take down the names of the people I have spoken to and threaten to report them to regional customer care because we are constantly being lied to. It did help because I managed to get a second installation date but still no ADSL. I will have to speak to that Nur Peters guy again and give him hell, Maybe we should all gang up on him since he is the supervisor of the adsl call centre (0214144865).
 
Lol Dazzla, I like the "all gang up" thing, I've got no real advice to give you, just be patient.

I had the same experience not so long ago, and all I can say its really frustrating.

I have a solution though that worked for me - incidentally where are you located?

I ordered the line using the internet form and that was in January. I spoke to guy named Dale today and he said he will sort out everything for me,but I somehow doubt it. I will wait to see if they will contact me tommorrow.

When I originally ordered the line it was for residential adsl and was delayed because I later found out that my residential ISDN line was being charged at business rates and therefore they could not process the order. I had to then go through the process of sorting out that problem and getting telkom to credit me for the overcharging which took a month to sort out, I have infinit call on the line which does not come with business ISDN and was overcharged for about over a year. I however didnt realize this coz my bill was on average R600.00 to R700.00 a month and this is well within my budget. Getting it sorted out took long because I wouldn't accept the "only allowing to give credit for 6 month period" crap. At end of Feb I managed to get them to only credit me for ten months and that was the best I could get out of them. I then reordered the adsl line at start of march over the telephone with same people who informed me that I was incorrectly being billed by telkom.

You can see why I dont expect much from telkom. If I could try wireless alternative I would but i am located in Lenasia which is well out of range.
 
im in the same boat as u dazzla, although my 2 installation dates were only a few days ago, gonna wait a week then start complaining.
 
I think you should complain everytime you have a chance otherwise they will just forget u exist.
 
I've had the same problem, pointless complaining...I've been waiting for 3 years since my installation date, Now when I phone to see what's happening, I get told my installation dates long over due and has the work escalated to 'high priority'...I wonder if projects dept knows what that means...But I'll keep bugging them until I hear from them...

to let me know what the situation is with my Installation...Pointless phoning Call centre, I'm tired of hearing "Your Installation dates long over due.Still waiting for projects Dept"...

30/06/2006 Can't give installation date no ports, project has been allocated. Sending email to get date for project.
04/06/2006 Can't give installation date no ports, project has been allocated. Sending email to get date for project.
05/06/2006 Can't give installation date no ports, project has been allocated. I was given Mr Peters number.
Mr Peters (whole of CPT ADSL order tracking) 021 414 4865 spoke to Dane
05/07/2006 - "to soon" to get installation date. But he will follow it up.
07/07/2006 - estimated that ports only due 27/09/2006 (0800456786 and Dane told me this)
18/07/2006 - Installation date 21 July 2006.
20/07/2006 - Installation still good for 21 July 2006.
21/07/2006 14h25 - I called to say that the technician had not call yet.
24/07/2006 12h00 - Escalated again - then gave me new number for Mr Peters 021 419 5857 number just rings.
24/07/2006 12h12 - Dane on 021 414 4865 needs to speak to the "specialist dept" - will come back to me by end tomorrow.

We are currently on Foreshore Exchange so can not do transfer.
Never once has Telkom called me back or updated me. Pathetic.
