So i recently got BC2 and i saw that is is a bandwidth eater!! As i use MWEB as my supplier, bandwidth prices is really a concern as it costs 100 Rand/GB. So i want to change to Afrihost for my cap but my dad cant stop using MWEB due to his E-Mail address being a @mweb (business address) so i just wanna know is it possible to have MWEB and Afrihost and use them at the same time, So that my dad can use his MWEB Account and i can use Afrihost for my gaming and downloading?

Thanks

If your router is capable of half-bridge mode, it shouldn't be a problem. Your dad works off mweb as usual and you can create a PPPoE dial up connection on your PC to use Afrihost at the same time.

Your dad could keep using mweb for his email even if you're logged in via Afrihost for your bandwidth...

I currently still pay for an @icon.co.za email address for my folks, and they access it via WebAfrica bandwidth i pay for...

Okay you MUST cancel your mweb internet account!

Send an email to Mweb Billing saying the following: Please would you downgrade my current Mweb account to E-mail access only (R45/month) - Effective of next month.

Then sign up with Afrihost. Your username and password will change for accessing the internet but your dad will use the same details for accessing the internet. If you need any further help, drop me a PM. I've done this before :D

Yes indeed... also suggest your dad buys his own domain name rather than the very unprofessional looking isp address.
They cost very little to run and once he's told all his clients his new address +/- 6 months then you are not restricted by your ISP at all and can benefit from the best prices.

Coming from the UK it's surprising the number of companies here with either no personal email or website. It is definitely going to change so you might as well benefit from it sooner rather than later!
