Hi.

I have 2 ISP's for my adsl, when i reach my cap on the one i switch to the other, but if i want to do this i have to go into my router setup and change the username and password there.

Is there a way to setup my computer that i dont have to go through the reset router every time but just get a option on wich ISP i want to use?

I remember one of my old pc's asked for the username and password every time i started my pc

schweeeezzzzzzz, that is the sound of that going right past me, i have no clue, but i take it, google is my friend?

If your router doesn't dial the connection you dial it yourself from your pc.

you have 2 options

1) using pppoe from your pc
2) you use 2 routers. router A dials main, router B dials through A it's isp. bit of setup to do but it works.

Set your modem to bridged mode, then create a new internet connection (pppoe) in Windows for each of the ISP's.

If you log into your modem now. You will see its currently using a PPPOE over ethernet connection. Change that to bridge mode if your modem supports it. Then create a PPPOE connection for each ISP on your PC.

OI... thiartc... what router you have? I have written a script (PHP) for my Billion that logs in and changes it for me.

lol, a black one i got from telkom, back in the day when i still used them as my isp.

Wil have a look and give you a whisp

I'd rather log in to my router twice a month than having to manually fire up PPPoE connections...

can't you just click on connect automatically and then when that one runs dry switch to the other?

You still have either change the login details twice a month (If you create one connection) or amend the settings as to which one connects automatically twice a month.

If you were switching between the two often I'd understand, but once every few weeks? Alternating between the two is about the same effort regardless of whether you do it on your router or on a bridged PPPoE connection.

allot of the routers is capable of saving more than one config too
save another connection and then just switch between them.
