I currently have one MW modem and one wireless router. The router is set to be dialled in 24/7. Due to me house sitting a lot these days, I bought another MW modem (which should be arriving soon), which I will use with my iBook over the ethernet cable when I house sit.
My question is, seeing as Sentech has disabled multiple logins because they're too stupid to allow multiple logins and throttle/share bandwidth accordingly (or too greedy or whatever) like ADSL, how do I make this work well? I am the main user of the internet, so I'd like to have some sort of system where the router will dial in as needed?
Also, what happens when two modems try to dial into the same account at the same time? Does the universe implode?
Edit: Just been messing with the router's settings tonight, and I've set it to remain connected for 10 minutes after the last activity occurred. Is this long enough to prevent it from dropping when all I have left open are (inactive/semi-inactive) internet messaging protocols?
