I know this has been asked before, but I want to complain.

I have a 2 story house, and I wish to put a phone up stairs and down stairs. I use VOIP, so I baught 2 iburst routers, one for up stairs, one for downstairs and I connect one phone to each.

HOWEVER, only one will work at a time, cause iburst wont allow me to use 2 modems at the same time.

this needs to be sorted, ie, I need to be able to use the 2 routers at the same time. PLEASE NOTE, I have a 25gb cap, so no matter how many modems are connected, I can only use 25gb.

Why am I blocked...?!?

AFAIK, you can have up to four iBurst modems linked to a single account.

Is your problem with connecting multiple modems to the internet, or with connecting two phones to iCall?

the issue is both, phones and internet, I would like to be able to use my phones everywhere in my house, and use my internet everywhere in my house. and for me the optimal solution (based on floor plan) is to have 2 modems strategically placed in my house. one upstairs and one downstairs.

I think an iCall account can only be logged in once. If you want two phones logged in at the same time you'll need two iCall accounts.

You shouldn't have any problems connecting both modems and going on the internet though.

I agree with Ginggs. You would need 2 accounts to use the phone but the internet should be fine. I would have thought though that this would be a bit expensive. Why not connect the Iburst Wan to a router and broadcast the signal throughout the house. Sure it won't solve the phone problem but it would probably improve your wireless coverage.

I got 2 routers for free, so it works out cheaper :)

I just got off the phone with iBurst, and two of their consultants confirmed that i can use internet on both routers at the same time, however iCall needs two accounts.

Calls aside...

My internet wont connect on both routers on the same time. arghhh....

Well technology received for less than a router is a good deal. You would need to have both routers linked to your account. Have you verified that they each work independently i.e. turn one off and try the Internet and then try the other with the first one off? This would establish if they are both linked to the account.
If they are both working you will need to check with iBurst. There may be some setting that needs to be changed on the router to have both on at the same time.
Good luck

as in your PC wont link to both routers at the same time, thereby doubling the speed of your internet
you need to have 1 router that can conect to both iburst modems at the same time and handle laod balancing, something like the microtik rb750

I'm referring to two totally separate machines, each with their own iburst desktop modem, connecting to the internet at the same time

How are you attaching the phones to the network, do you have an ATA?

Maybe you could get a DECT base station that allows more than one handset to attach?

I managed to get the intenet working as well. all is up and running perfectly

Polemus, Glad that you managed to sort the problem out. Anything as to what the solution was that you would like to share ?

Regards

Tim

To solve internet I phoned iBurst and they sent reset signals to my 2 iBurst modems, once that was done, I switched off the modems and switched them back on. I was then able to simultaneously connect with 2 different laptops at the same time.

it is a bit difficult to explain the phones, but I basically have two cordless phones, 2 baystations, only one connected to a router, and the other set up to connect to the other baystation.
