Howsit network people,

I have 2 PCs at home on a network. Its a basic home network with 1 x single port router -> 8 port switch -> 2 x PCs and 1 x Wireless AP.

I have started running the router in bridging mode so that each PC can use different ISP accounts at the same time through the single router. This means however that Wireless machines like Tablets and Cellphones cannot connect to the internet via the wireless AP anymore.

To solve this problem I was thinking I could install another NIC on the one PC. I would then connect one NIC to the router network (as is currently done) to allow the PC access to the internet then the 2nd NIC would have the wireless AP connected to it. Then the wireless machines would connect to the internet via the wireless AP through the PC.

Essentially I want to make a hotpot PC without installing a wireless card on its mobo or using a wireless USB.

Is this possible? How would I configure the settings?

Thanks

That seems like a lot of trouble when a simpler solution would be to put your router into half bridge mode... Put the account from the one PC on the modem and let that PC and all your wifi devices shared that account. And leave the other PC to do PPPoE to the modem via the 2nd account.

best solution:

mikrotik and mangle/NAT traffic from multiple PPPOE to different hosts.

Wasn't aware I could "half bridge". Will see if my basic router can do it. Dlink DSL-2500U

Ok, well it seems that after some searching the DSL-2500U is natively in half bridge mode. All I had to do was setup the router with the isp account as normal for "non bridge",then set up dial up connections through windows if I want to use a different ISP. So I am "dialing in ISP no. 2" over the constantly running ISP no. 1. This means anything connecting via wifi will work on ISP no. 1.

Thanks for the help.
