Hey guys

Im about to order adsl 192, and i have 2pcs that i would like to connect to the line in the easiest manner. This is at home and the pcs r +- 10m away.

Do i buy a router and connect them via that? or a switch? What is the simpliest way to do this and also which modem/switch/router do i buy? and how do i connect them

thanks.

Just buy a ADSL router ... they have 4 Ethernet ports.

Just configure the router for DHCP and let your PC's get their IP's and gateway from the router when they boot up and plug in the cables and then both machines can surf the net.

Really easy.

How much are you willing to spend ???.

That will do yes, but I prefer my Netgear DG834G ADSL/Router (wireless) because it's got SPI and prevention against DDos attacks etc. Very nice. Will cost you around 1500. Mweb sells it in their big black box for ADSL.

thx, thing is i dont wanna spend more than R1k for a modem. so if u have any idea as to what modem is the best for under that it would be appreciated.

Eish dude, if I could be brutally honest, rather go for quality. Billion is a good make though, so I'd go for one of those if I was on a budget

I agree with noone, go for quality. It makes all the difference. I have the Netgear DG834GT (Ha! beat you noone!) with 3 pc's connected to it, and it works a treat!

Cheers, Nick
