Hey guys :D

so i got my Telkom Billion 400G router today but i already have a SMC ADSL Barricade N router. So i wondered, can i use the new or old one as a receiver and enhance the wireless signal? or what can i do now that i have 2, lol.

thanks!

You could use the other one as another acees point in a different part of the house if you link it up via cable.

mmmm gonna need a long cable as the router thats plugged in the telephone line is upstairs..... no other way of doing this and how would i set this up, just plug and play?....

Can the SMC do WDS?

You can connect to 2 routers wirelessly to each other if both supports WDS. On the Billion you can look under the wireless settings for the WDS functionality.

Look at this ost for some tips maybe... http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=160202

Another question, if you had 2 routers could you connect both and have a different account on each eg. one for local and one for international.

So if you split your tel line into each router, then have both connect normaly via PPPoE, one to a local only account like openwebs 30gb IS account, and then another using an international account so that you can change quickly wirelessly. Or different computers can use the accounts seperately on the same line? This should work right?

The short answer is NO... it won't work. Don't ask me why. I guess it has something to do with what the network on the other side (at the exchange) can see and talk to.
