Hi.

I have 2 data sims, both connected to the same number - one is a normal sim i use with my usb modem with my laptop and a micro sim i use with my ipad.

The lady a the vodashop said i should not have both on at the same time, what will happen, if i by mistake have both active Simultaneously?

Thanks

Only the one switch on last will be able to receive calls, sms's, etc.

Other than that I don't think anything else will happen.

its both data connections, so only the most recent active connection will work,if thats the case, cool.

thank you for the info

It sounds to me like you have the data sim product...which means all your sims voice + 2 data sims can be used at the same time. It is twin call that only one sim may be used at a time. With twin call, you can only have one additional sim so if you have two data sims, that sounds to me like the Data Sim product for which you pay about R9.00 per month per sim.

yes, i have one data contract and pay R10 per month for the other sim

Than you can use both sims at the same time...no probs. ;)

I did the sim clone thing, so did a number of my staff (being a nice boss I gave them all iPad3s). However myself and 2 of my staff who did the sim clone (not prepaid) have problems accessing a data connection. I can't connect to the 3G network and my 2 staff members need to reboot their devices to catch 3G signal. All the prepaids are working just fine. Any advice? (well beside go prepaid?!)

check to see what the APN is set to. If blank, fill in "internet" without the quotes. reboot the device after that.

Jip all this is fine....also tried the iphone APN...no joy!

Thank you...to rule out the device...please test one of those prepaid sims in your Ipad. If that does not work...then a sim swop might have to be done. The service appears as active on my system. If the sim swops also dont work...then a call should be logged for Advanced Data Support to go down into the basement, through the spider webs and to the servers and press the "restart" button on your lines :p

You could skip the whole sim swop part and go straight to logging the call though, but sometimes a sim swop can help.

Awesome...thanks ocleroux! Will try and give feedback here.

On the prepaid there is a constant fluctuation between no signal, edge and 3g. Must be out "wonderful" signal here in Potch. Will try again when I am in better reception area tomorrow. I hardly have cell signal at home on a good day. But still the cloned sim does not pick up even the fluctuations in signal.
