Hi

Can anyone tell me if I can plug an Iburst Desktop Modem into a router and have two (or more) people using the internet off at the same time?

Thanks.

Yes, I used an Asus router for my company, just specify the router's IP address as your gateway on the individual machines.

if you're a real cheapskate, use windows' internet connection sharing method.

you'll need two NIC's in the host PC though. (or one NIC if the iburst router goes in via USB).

A router, as suggested above, will be much quicker and easier.

Thats why they call it a router... Anyways expect crappy speeds when dividing your iburst between 2 and more people

You don't need two NICs, you can plug the iBurst desktop modem into a switch, you just have to change the modem's address IP address from 192.168.0.1 otherwise it will clash with the Windows PC doing ICS.

+1

You don't have to wait for your ICS machine to boot before you can go on the internet.
