So I have made a kind of 'landing' static site for someone with information about their company, but I also need a 'blog' type thing where they can login and post a blog update. This will be linked to on the main site and also hosted under the same domain.

Now my question is, should I just install another wordpress installation so I can theme it differently and they can easily log in and not mess up the rest of the site (they are technically challenged).

If so, could you point me in the right direction for doing this?

Thanks

just create a separate folder on the server for your 2nd install, copy all the wordpress install files there and create another database for it use. You can even create a subdomain if you want, and have that point to your new install.

But the install process is identical to the first one. You just need to put it in a different folder to your main install.

Oh that's easy thanks!

np, just make sure you put the second install in a different folder, and you use a different database to the main site.

Just scanned through that, but looks like it will accomplish the same thing, the websites are just linked in certain ways, and share certain resources.

Oh okay I think the separate installation is probably easier for me.
