Hi all.

I need help to setup up my dual wan router. want to make sure my setting are correct.

I have 2 desktop modems the Black ones.
And windows vista 64.

Problem with windows internet explorer and Firefox only half pages loads sum times.

I burst technical staff useless don't no-how to setup.

Well, this has to start somewhere so:
- which make/model dual wan router?
...for that matter, WHY the dual wan with 2x UTDs??
- have you got all relevant USER/PASS info?
- MTU == 1350 *is* your friend! (unless you're doing VPN in which case it's some other number I'm not going to look up now)
- the internal side of the router (id est, LAN) side working properly?

Feed us some replies 'n the collective has a better chance of helping you out.

thanks for the replay.
I have a Billion BiGuard 30 Lite.
LAN working very well download at 180.0kb to 240.0kb sec.
I am in Midrand so my signal is not the best receiving at 90% to 100%.
It is only when I open web pages with images thay load half way or not at all.
If I keep on reloading the web page one to 100 times if I am lucky then it loads full image.
I will also see if I can post a image of my settings.

Be aware that most dual WAN routers are not compatible with iBurst and the "symptoms" of incompatibility are similar to what you are describing...

Netgear and DLink Dual WAN routers are also incompatible.

There should be something like protocol binding where you can bind a certain port to a WAN interface. Like for instance you would bind http port 80 to WAN1 and say mail port 25 to WAN 2.

..."most"? Err, I've put down the ASUS dual-wan router they were hawking at one stage to which I had MyWireless on WAN1 and iBurst on WAN2 (or other way round, can't recall now) and it never gave a problem. Since then I've put this same Billion BiGuard down at another site - which also has always worked fine if going by the "I didn't get crapped on or have to go out and fix it" approach. Can't speak for the latter two though.

I have a (possibly churlish, but you know how it is) :p that this may well be a PEBKAC issue...

I ended up putting only the iBurst onto WAN1 on the BiGuard, WAN2 was meant for a Diginet that ended up not materialising. But, you can pretty much count on that being true.

But I'm just not getting why he (apparently) has 2x iBurst on the thing - unless it's somehow for speed 'cos this route isn't worth a damn for failover: the (same) tower both modems see going down will completely cut his connection!

Normally works when you have DSL and iBurst, but not two iBurst modems...

iBurst is gonging to send a technician to my house to sort the problem out.
And i mast say that i got excellent service from iBurst.
will keep informed ones all is done.

TX, I was unable to resolve the issue with two iBurst modems, would like to know what the cause and resolve is - if it exists...

Regards

bdt, do you know of a Dual Wan that has a 4 port LAN with 1 Gbps throughput that you have used successfully with iBurst?

Seems most 1 Gbps LAN throughput devices deliver poorer speeds than older 10/100 LAN's when used with iBurst... (not yet verified)

Sorry for not getting back sooner, but I had to run it for at least a day or 2 to make sure I post the write information and not be disappointed after.

So iBurst did send a technician to my house yesterday 25 June 2008 and he sorted my problem out for me.

Problem.

My aerial was pointing the wrong direction so my downloads (840kb/s) was quick but upload was very slow (50kb/s) so that was the cause of my banking and web pages did not load properly.

Very happy with both my modems.

Now I can open up all pages and do banking no problem and I can now play world of war craft and crisis online no problems. My downloads are at 930kb/s +- and my uploads are now at 410kb/s +-
Thanks iBurst.

Sorry for the quick writing but need to go back to world of war craft.
