Many believe they can truly stay in this window indefinitely
with some batteries you may be able to do this ie the soc graph lends itself to it and even if they do if the inverter uses a shunt and ignores the voltage you would be in the same boat , with lithium iRon phosphate (Lifep04) this isn't so easy

finding these spots via voltage is just folly, and a shunt isn't a miracle device, they need calibration from time to time , which would mean you have to visist at least either the bottom or the top from time to time, and both if you want to be able ammend for capacity loss

many like to comment on bms behviour in unballanced batteries with no real life experience of an unballanced battery

or they would not even know how to recoqnise it if that cold fish slapped them through the face

the idea of sharing info is to learn from someone else's experience /school fees not having to pay it yourself

naturally we should always have salt handy until we can confirm it's validity

often some myths get spread as fact

it is always a good idea to keep an open head, if you keep experiencing contradictions of the myth you have to at some point consider it de-bunked

if your opinion is contradicted with actual real life experience or scientific proof, you have to change your opinion not ignore it

BMSs dont balalnce cells

they can keep them balanced if all goes well

now yes this is almost impossible to happen , ie to have such unbalanced cells that

in an 8s battery by using voltage
it is technically possible to have a battery that has a voltage of 26.4 that you would estimate as 70% soc

actually be 9% soc

Coincidentally, it matches the SOD graph, which will be more or less from 2023-2080 ...
Not exactly sure what you meant

The problem with soc/sod graphs

They are dependant on amps being pushed/pulled so the estimated soc level can be wrong if estimated by voltage
Especially if not aiming for fully charging

Ie 80% if you aim for it can have even more variance due to the flat portion of the graph of lifep04

ie a good bout of sunshine can push the voltage and fool your voltage regulated charging to stop charging and go into float before the required soc is actually hit

I was jestering that the SOD (State of Disaster) will probably last us for the next 57 years, at least ...
it is so clear , gotta brush up on my lingo

hopefully the optimism for seeing an end to it won't be shattered

they say a pesimist is an optimist with experience
