At varsity (2000-2002) we were given a quota which only allowed each student to print 50 free pages per month, once you've depleted that you had to pay per page. This was linked to your AD account. I found a bug in the print spooler which allowed me to print when my quota was depleted. It goes like so:
You start the print job, open the printer queue, cancel your job (there'll be quite a long delay before the job
actually disappears), before your job disappears, right-click and restart it. This bypasses the quota check (for some reason). The last two steps should be done as quickly as possible.

If the Windows print spooler was unchanged as the article suggests then I'm fairly sure this will still work, maybe somebody who runs an AD network can test it out for us
