Hi everyone I have a problem with the above mentioned car and kindly need advice, I was driving my A6 2.4 c5 auto yesterday late afternoon from Meyerton when suddenly it lost power and stalled it never started, kept on cranking with no attempt to start, I called a vw mechanic who put it on Vag , it reported 4 codes but cleared them , he changed the fuel pump fuse, checked the plug and they were ok n firing/sparking but the car would not start. Bought a new crank sensor but it will not start, today I took out the spark plugs and they were full of oil, cleaned the and started the car but now it sputters and misfires, any idea as to what could be the problem, oh and both cambelts are still okay. Any advice will be highly appreciated...

@ Generic thanx will that cause these cars to stall and not start?

Hi novu, I had the same issue a while back. It will explain your loss of power and starting issues. In my case it was the plug seals. Each plug chamber has a seal between the chamber and the tappit cover. To inspect it you need to remove the cover. Can be done diy if you know your way around. If the one seal is gone you might as well replace all of them along with the cover seal. This was on my old Honda your Audi would be a bit more of a challenge.

Thanx again Genetic forgot to mention that my crank case hose is also full of oil, is it possible to open the crank case so that I can clean up the oil???
