2006 Toyota Tazz Alarm Problem

Hi All,

My wife has a 2006 Toyota Tazz. A couple of weeks ago the dome light shorted and blew the fuse. I replaced the light and fuse. but noticed the that when opening the door the light will not come on. I suspect this is wired through the alarm as normally if you close the door the light will stay on until the alarm is activated. I decided to do a test and armed the alarm and then opened the door--- The alarm did not activate.

The alarm is the factory alarm from Toyota. Does anyone have any wiring diagrams or advice on fixing this?

Remove the battery and look at the wiring loom below the battery tray, it happened to our Carry. Battery leaked and over time destroyed the cables for the alarm.

is the issue with one door or all 5 doors(the boot opening should also trigger the alarm)

well what I would suggest is that u ensure all fuses are OK, IE; in the front next to the battery and by the driver kick panel.

if that checks out, take it to an alarm guy and ask him to fit an auto watch alarm for you. it's a few hundred Rand but is much better than the factory one. He can also fit it with central locking.
