2007/2008 Fa Cup Thread

wow i would rather watch the game i watched today than another final like last year

i hope on Wednesday its not a repeat of the fa cup final

cardiff where really great, their keeper not so great

Agreed! What an awesome game, special 4 me to watch campbell and kanu. Great celebrations, far better than eufa cup ;) nice to see cardiff supporters around for the runners-up celebrations.

it was a pity about jimmy though :(

the commentator said it was a game to far but they never gave him the ball and never tried to get him in a shooting position

we all know jimmy can hit 30 yard goals

hated seeing him what seemed like a winger :(

yea brad cardiff have nothing to be ahsamed or upset about, they gave portsmith as good as they got and to be honest if they had a better final ball they could have won

im just preying wednesday is not a let down defensive game i think its going to be :(

Jimmy's goal against Spurs I think it was in the earlier rounds made goal of the tournament. Where he dummies the one guy with his right, takes it onto his left and then curls in and absolute cracker from the edge of the box. Class that lad is, class.

Exactly my thoughts - I felt for Cardiff - they have nothing to be ashamed about but man, it must have sucked to be that close but no cigar - esp for a coca cola division team. And now Portsmouth has more silverware than Arsenal and Chelsea put together (so far :) )
I would have definately lost a bet on the outcome of that game score wise... thought P were going to win by another goal at least...

LONDON, May 19 (Reuters) - Portsmouth's FA Cup final celebrations were marred at the weekend when two players had their winners' medals stolen.

England defender Glen Johnson and reserve goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown were the victims of the thefts which were discovered when the players returned to their hotel in Windsor, west of London, following Sunday's victory parade in Portsmouth.

Former Chelsea player Johnson, who played the full 90 minutes in Portsmouth's 1-0 win over Cardiff City, said his medal had been taken from his washbag.

'I'm so disappointed, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that someone's going to give it back,' he told the Portsmouth website.

Ashdown, who did not play in the final, said his medal had been taken from inside a jacket pocket.

Peter Storrie, the club's chief executive, said the incident had put a dampener on the club's first FA Cup final success since 1939.

'If someone has taken these medals they have deprived our players of a lifelong dream,' he said.

Thames Valley Police confirmed the medals had been reported stolen on Monday and were carrying out investigations.
