yep, new coach :) is a good start.. think quotas would be the worst thing they can do.. letting english players train with and play against some of the most talented foreigners every week is only going to improve their own game play

Not if they don't even get into the squad. Even average foreign players are now coming in no better than many English players

probably cos english players are more pricey?
16 million darren bent? lol

lets see, darren bent for 16 million or robin van persie for 4, who do you pick?

international football is incredibly boring anyway.. club football is so much more entertaining purely because of the large pool of players you can build your team with..

It hasn't so far. :p

lets use ferdinand and brown as an example.. you dont think their skills have been refined because they've been given the opportunity to train week in week out with players like ronaldo, vidic, giggs?

if you train with mediocre players and play against mediocre players then you stay at that level

Where did you read that?

correction: The combined loss (2bil pounds) to the UK economy that is - not the FA alone

actually Ferdinand is teaching Vidic and Evra and Silvestre. :)

The point though is to limit foreign players and not expel them completely.

I don't think the foreign player argument is the cause of England's failure to qualify.

What it comes down to is poor team selection, poor management and poor performances by the players picked. England do have quality players in abundance, but they are not nurtured into the national squad, but thrown in peicemeal. Rather create a solid core of players and then identify talent and give them room to grow into the squad.

While I am severely disappointed that England didn't qualify, maybe in retrospect it's the wake up call the FA, and the players need

Bolton 1-0 Man Utd

Gary Megson claimed his first win in charge of Bolton with the unlikely scalp of Manchester United, thanks to Nicolas Anelka's early strike.

Ouch!

As said on the arsenal website. Arsenal winning is great. Man utd losing on the same day is just icing on the cake. No better words to describe it :)

:D

Poor Manure lose to Bolton or is it just Anelka ;)

We absolutely destroyed an utterly pathetic Newcastle( sorry Datura). Torres should have had 5 goals alone. LOL you could see it just wasn't going to go in for him yesterday. Open goals, one on ones just nothing worked :D. Still a bigger walkover than Derby or even Basiktas IMO.

Yeah, what a result!

I didn't see the game - were Everton just too good or did Sunderland play poorly?

Can't imagine the horrors that went on in the Sunderland dressing room after that game :sick:

Both really. The problem is Sunderland haven't won away in the Premier League in now close to 20 games, & this probably haunted them again!

I can just see Keane taking some of Ferguson's dressing room antics and throwing around some boot or 2. :D

I wish they could show us the post match interviews instead of forcing us to listen to gary baileys interpretation of the match :(

oh man, gallas is such a nice guy, and he adds such spirit to the team...

arsene robbed chelsea so badly :) william gallas + money for cashley cole hahaha

alan u know that bolton are actually quite a good team man?
