yeah.. i mean windies did not look convincing yet hit alot of sixes, when SA or Ausies play gonna be sky rockets

Windies 241/9 50ov.

I think they got 20 - 30 more than pakistan would have liked given the start and slow periods but they hit alot of sixes which looked easy to do.. I can only wonder how bad afridi would have been on that grounds :-/

At least it encourages the batsmen to go for it and aim for the ropes...

It takes away from the game when the field is too small. There's no point in having outfielders, and there's barely any 2's or 3's.

Hehe, a purest are we? ;)

I take it you don't love the pro20 then?

I get what you are saying. But I prefer small fields with big scores than playing games on fields like in Sydney and the other Aussie Rules fields they use where you can often run 3 and even run 4!

I don't care if 438 is in danger...if a score >438 can be chased down then I'd be really stunned.

This is true. Setting someone like Bermuda a target of like 450 and successfully chasing 438 against the best team in the world are two different things :)

It's the only sporting event that still gives me goosebumps after having watched it more than a dozen times already..

Well I prefer an even contest between bat and ball - makes for closer finishes. Pro20 isn't the same as an ODI, it's two different games just as ODI's are different from tests.

The Aussie grounds are about the same size as ours, they just tend to keep the ropes as close to the fence as possible, in the past they never even had ropes. When you reduce the size of the playing field, you automatically make it one-sided towards the batsmen. That's for Pro20, not ODI's. Think about it - if this trend continues then which kid in their right mind would aspire to be a world class bowler?

Same here best. Best sporting day ever. This and the Rugby WC final in 1995 are the best sporting moments ever in SA sport :)

The best sportin day of ur life will be when SA wins that game on April 28th.

A year ago yesterday was the 438 game. Brought back some good memories. Lost my voice afterwards. Still remember what we thought at innings break: 'what a waste of time and money attending a game where Aus broke the world record. What a shame.' ;)

Oh man theres definitely something about this WC...it's not only me but a whole bunch of other Saffers that just have that feeling deep down that this time the trophy is ours. derekc I agree April 28th is gonna be party time (cross fingers, touch wood) :)

Man, I was so bleak at the half time break as well. I still remember.

Kept my SA shirt on the whole day after the game, wore it to varsity the following day and took with a big SA flag as well :) It was awesome.

funny thing my friend sold his ticket that day to play golf...worst decision of his life. The other friend he sold it to wasn't complaining at all...hehe.
