I've been watching this fascinating race unfold for about a month now. Place your bets for who takes the REP nomination, DEP nomination and presidency.

Who would you vote for and why?

Algore!

In random order

Interesting choices: Dunno about Guilliani though, seems a bit shady and a touch too Machiavellian.

From a policy point of view Dennis Kucinich makes a lot of sense, though Obama is 100's more electable while still moderate he's left leaning enough to appeal to me.

Out of the Republicans, Ron Paul is interesting but a little crazy (perhaps naive) in some of his ideas. (and his online supporters/spammers annoy the hell out of me) But his libertarian angle and defending the constitution is spot on. Also he has the best voting record of anyone regarding the war. He is not a serious contender though and would prob back maverick McCain if I had to vote republican. (ie to stop Clinton dynasty from a "3rd term")

I have a similar view of Guilliani.

Kucinch I have an inbuilt bias against, he's always come across as weasel-like to me (always = prob the last 7/8 years that I've been aware of him).

Hillary....she's strong, but would be my second choice cos I'd go with Obama for the Democratic nomination.

I'll go Obama. He seems to be the most electable and I really don't have any major issues with him. He would bring some frsh ideas into the office, which can only be good. And if he screws up or even is a Carter like president than we'll knock him out in 2012 for someone else. He is probably worth the risk right now...

Clinton...Please NO! Anything (and I mean anything) than her.

Republicans don't interest me too much although I would vote Ron Paul if he had a solid chance. I'm not convinced he can take on Romney or McCain at the moment. They have the 'establishment' working for them.

I want Barack Obama to become the DEM rep, but Hillary is going to take it with dodgy voting machines. My guess for the Republican rep will be John McCain.

If America chooses Hillary.. its going not going to be ideal for the world.

Barack Obama - Prez
Hillary Clinton - V Prez

POW McCain - would have been a good choice but he's too old.

I don't think Hillary will settle for VP. And I really hope Obama is smart enough to get someone else as his VP because Hillary will hurt him in the general election.

Clinton really doesn't bring anything to the table except her husband. And do we want that again? (Clinton X calling the shots for Clinton Y and vice-versa).

How can you possibly care??

Because I am allowed to vote in the elections!

Oh, I think you were asking wamatt. ;)

Obama might take it!!

Problem is, he wont fit in with the "in" crowd, theres already rumours he will be another assassinated US prez.

So who would you go for McCain or Bilary?

Vespex you're an enigma

How can you support a black( well half :D) guy and loonie Paul who unashamedly has the support on neo nazis

Hillary, McCain would be Bush all over again. Hillary is half way between Bill and Bush (while Hillary has sold out to big money... she would not be as destructive as McCain). Obama is like none of them. They call this a lack of experience... but to me.. in politics.. thats most probably a good thing.

Am I? Gee... I could care less about a persons race. The couple that I consider my grandparents (because my real ones died when I was very young) are "black". So why would I not vote for someone just because his skin color is the same as people that I love dearly? I can't believe you actually wrote that. Or should I rather say, I can believe it. :(

And Paul, he has the support of lots of people from all backgrounds. I'm not about to discredit him because someone else also likes what he says and does. That would be stupid.

I don't care what race he is. Just wondering at the irony of supporting these two based on Pauls links with these kind of people and their views towards people like Obama. As for loonie Paul it goes deeper than just his supporters having a problem with race

I would think that you would be a big Ron Paul fan in many ways Alan. Especially if those letters are in fact his words. ;)
