I now have the option to buy a very well maintained and relatively low mileage V50 T5 for a very good price.
I know the owner personally and the history of the car.

Any reason why I should pass this and lot let the wagon and 5 cylinder entice me?
Fuel consumption not a influencer at this moment, this will be my 2nd car and not a daily.
