2009 Brings New Content!

It'll bring in a new age of tactics ... groups of invisible ele's standing around and randomly casting spells in the hopes of hitting someone running past them.

On the other had the assassins will stand around and wait for some dumb ele to draw attention to himself before nobbing him from behind.

The quietest PvP's ever :D

Wouldn't that also screw up the running community

It would, in essence, screw up the game if it was simply implemented as a spell.

PvP areas such as Fort Aspenwood would become grossly unbalanced, as, for example, Kurzicks could simply go invisible and continually run amber without being attacked.

PvE would also be messed up. People would no longer need to fight groups of mobs to explore for the title, they could farm targeted groups of mobs, cap elite skills much more easily, perform chest runs without any work etc. The game wasn't designed with invisibility in mind. I'd love to see such pandemonium as a weekend event though :D

Off topic. Have any of you guys completed the Domain of anguish quests with Mallyx?

I still have a few to do. I hate the Tormented areas so I've never had the heart to. Doing that damn Gate of Madness was enough!

SF plays the invincible (though not really invisible, but still untouchable) role far too easily as it is at present, especially in PvE.

Luckily they dummed it down in PvP, I imagine (sadly) an invisible skill would be just as abused as SF was in PvP.

I seriously hope they would be able to balance the game much better in GW2, as this is what has been lacking in GW1.

The World PvP arena they have planned for GW2 sounds awesome on a much bigger scale than AB for instance, if anything the closest is HA with 3 teams fighting for Halls (making it 24 people) although the World arena may not be as organised, which makes it closer to AB again, due to it's less organised mechanism (not knowing who the other 2 teams are that is fighting with you and the 3 teams fighting against you).

where are you up 2? I can help you finnish NF if you like.

At the moment not much. Myself and one of my guildies are playing towards the end of NF together - so if I can get her aboard we'll definitely appreciate the help. I think the next mission we have to do is Dagonur Bastion.

Tried to do it once before but we got lagged into fried crispy critters.

Yes, I just have the Mallyx quest itself left. We must go pay him a visit, say HI! :D
A guildie and I did the other 4 missions (Ravenheart, Torcua, Foundry, Veil) during December.
(I presume you are talking about DoA and not the Realm of Torment missions?)

Lol, yes DoA. Done the rest of the elite areas and that looks like fun. Just hope the freaking ping stops spiking (thats why im not on a lot atm).

Maybe help me with the first 4 missions and I could tag along for Mallyx. :)

ArenaNet have mentioned that Guild Wars 2 will have fewer skills, which will definitely help in balancing the game.

They also said that PvP forms such as GvG etc. will still be available for play in the sequel, but The Mists will be where the constant server vs. server action will be.

I think I still need Dzagonur Bastion. I'll let you know if I do. Though I could be confusing it with another mission. Is Dzagonur the mission involving the siege weapons or is it the one where you have to solve various riddles?

Yes its the one with the siege weapons :)

If you guys can agree on a time ill come help out.

I'm usually on between 7 and 9 - for various reasons I try and limit myself to about 2 hours a night - 3 max. I'll see if I can get hold of my guildie so we can drag her along - if I head off ahead of her I'll never hear the end of it :D

Yes, I know what ANet has released as what they are intending it to be like, what I am alluding to is how it is really going to work and play. I am hoping for GW1 not to repeat itself, so I am staying positive and think they have learned their lessons.
They had lots of big aspirations for GW1 but realised that due to the game design most of the grand ideas wasn't possible to be implemented = GW2.

It's the one where you have to keep 6/6 defenses intact (for the bonus) by using the Whispers and kill the 4 bosses with Kournans coming to whip your ass all the time. :D

Ah dang, I need the one with the riddles. I think it's called the Hidden City of something and it must be option as I've finished the campaign minus that mission. Man it's been a long time since I hardcore Nightfall-PvEd.

Lol, I can help with that one as well :p:D

That's the one where you have the bunch of bosses at the end isn't it? Annoyed the cr@p outta me - I finished the entire mission and then got myself nailed right at the end. I wanted to cry - its not exactly a short mission.

Got it the second time around though ...;)
