Like I said, He doesn't seem to excel in that Role and just looks ordinary - but as its been pointed out, I may be lacking viewing time in my judgementYeah - from what I understand he is a defensive midfielder and we've missed a competent one since Makelele moved on. Sure Essien is good in that role, but he is even more important as a box to box midfielder.
