OFFICIAL: Liverpool Sign England International Joe Cole

Premier League giants Liverpool have have confirmed the capture of England international Joe Cole on a free transfer. The attacking midfielder was available on a free transfer after leaving Chelsea earlier this summer.

The Reds announce on their official website that they've agreed personal terms with Cole and that the gifted midfielder will undergo a medical in the next 48 hours. No details about the length of Cole's contract have been disclosed.

The 28-year-old Cole is a product of the West Ham youth system, but left the Hammers for an adventure at Chelsea in the summer of 2003. He won three league titles and two FA Cups during a seven-year spell at Stamford Bridge. Additionally, he has represented his country 56 times, scoring 10 goals in the process.

Fantastic news. Who would have thought Cole would swop places with Yossi a few months ago. Not even FM can conjure up such bizarre transfers :D

So his contract is worth 20m pounds over 4 years.. not so sure its worth it but anyways, good luck Alan, hope he gets you guys back into the CL at the expense of Spurs, not the other London team

Benitez plans Merseyside raid - The Sunday Times
New Inter Milan boss Rafa Benitez has been linked with summer moves for Liverpool duo Javier Mascherano and Dirk Kuyt and Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar. Who will Benitez sign for the Serie A side?

Mascherano is very likely but will most likely only be done in the last days of the mercato. Kuyt maybe depends on the price lfc wants, he is one in the running along with forlan, dzeko and g.rossi as balo's replacement. Pienaar is a story clearly invented by the english media, there is no chance inter will go for him. The side is well covered in the midfield and unlike mascherano he isn't a top 3 player in his position in the world. Then you also factor in that inter have already used our non eu spot for coutinho and even if we wanted pienaar we couldn't sign him. As far as I know pienaar doesn't hold an eu passport, mascherano holds an italian passport so he can still be signed.

In other news man city have raised their offer for balotelli to €35 million, man utd is still in the hunt and favoured bu his agent since they are offering higher wages at this stage.

Tevez, Balotelli, Drogba, Santa Cruz, Adebayor, Jo, Bellamy. City are idiots. Half their players are just happy to benchwarm for ridiculous wages.

Inter have finally officially completed the andrea ranocchia deal from genoa. Inter have bought 50% of his contract for €6.5 million. Genoa have loaned mattia destro(italian under 19 striker) from inter. Inter will sign ranocchia out right for season 2011/2012 for another €6.5 million, €3 million of thta will be 50% of destro's contract. Ranocchia stays at genoa for season 2010/2011 while he recovers from the knee injury suffered last season. He then replaces materrazi at inter in season 2011/2012.

For those who don't know him, he is the best young centreback in serie a. Ricardo Ferri calls him the new nesta and beppe bergomi also rates him very highly.

Not Tevez but yeah a team of volatile and not quite world class players(nearly men). Recipe for disaster IMO

Add robinho to the list and things are going to fly. Mancini is not the best man manager judging by his time at inter so this will be a big test.
