Wait till you see the interior.. Specifically the instrument cluster and the "dual-viEw" navigation/tv. Driver watches navigation, passenger tv on the same screen!

Go YouTube the instrument cluster.

Nice indeed, I would only get one to play around with. Not drive around on a daily basis

Hmm so it seems we're not getting the 5.0 N/A HSE version but only the 5.0 supercharged and 3.6 TDV8 versions.. Or maybe that will come later..

Recommended Retail Price (Incl VAT)

V8 3.6 Diesel R934,500

V8 5.0 S/C Petrol R961,000

yes which is why only govt officials can drive it. its the only place, like that oke in KZN where you can claim 100k pm for "maintenance and fuel" on your vehicle.

the 2010 RRS does 0-100-0 faster than the previous model's 0-100 time. there's a clip on youTube showing the difference

On the other hand, if that thing breaks down in the bush, you are stuffed. No way you will get it going again without plugging it into a diagnostics unit, and other than LR stealers, no one else will know how to fix it.

And IIRC, the smallest tyre size is 19" - not many offroad tyres in that size, and not many places that stock them.

Yea you can't fit a 18" rim... because of the brake calipers. but buying a car at that price, fixing it when it breaks is the least of your problems:D... very few people will take the RRS in the bush if any, the D4 on the other hand will be taken to the bush. the terrain response system on those discos are great...

if you break down in the bush then Jeeps and the like likes will tow you:D

yep, but the D4 also has the same issue with tyre size - 19" is the smallest you can have.

IMHO, the D3 is the best SUV compromise between on- and off-road, e.g., you can still put 16" tyres on the S spec.

I'll stick to my D2 - if it breaks, plenty of bush mechanics who can fix it. In a couple of years I will get another Defender.

that'll just break the Jeeps :p
