Geographical criteria will also be respected, meaning that no two teams from the same confederation will be drawn in the same group (except European teams, where a maximum of two will be in a group). For example, South Africa cannot play the African teams from Pot 3 and Argentina and Brazil cannot be drawn against the three remaining South American teams.

So there is still hope that an easier draw might favour our entry into round 2?

Threat shuts down World Cup draw venue

Uh-Oh,
Police explosives experts using sniffer dogs were called in to the World Cup draw venue here on Friday briefly snagging last-minute preparations for the ceremony.

Entrances and exits to the Cape Town International Convention Centre were cordoned off as police officers held back journalists and officials arrving for the 1700 GMT draw.

Cape Town - Police say a man was arrested after he made two hoax phone calls saying a bomb had been planted at the airport amid tight security for Friday's World Cup draw.

Superintendent Vish Naidoo said police working with other law enforcement agencies were able to quickly establish that the bomb threat was a hoax and tracked the man down to a suburb in Cape Town.

In another security threat, sniffer dogs and a bomb disposal unit were brought to the Cape Town International Convention Center and entrances sealed off.

The CTICC was, however, declared safe later on Friday afternoon.

What kind of bozo makes a hoax call from his own phone ?!
