2011 Honda Jazz 1.5 EX

I've read through the forum and seen that many people have good things to say about the Honda Jazz.

We are looking at getting a 2011 Honda Jazz with 61 000km.

Test drove it and it feels great. (Anything feels great after my Citi Golf!)

Can somebody give me some info on service costs and perhaps fuel efficiency etc, also general comments in the vehicle.

I have the 2012 model.

Service costs : well I'm still under maintenance plan. But looking at the statement it's roughly R2,000 where labour was the bulk of it.

Fuel efficiency is good. 7l/100km urban and about 6l/100km on the open road.

General comments : No problems whatsoever up to now. Great car for town driving, a bit sluggish in the open road.

Yeah it seems what you've said is what i've found most people saying. Are you doing your services through the Honda Service Centre?

The one we are looking at is early 2011 model, pre-newer 2011 model. I have no clue what the difference is.

My wife is really going to be using it mostly in town driving and we go away once every 2-3 months so anything is better than the Citi Golf!

haha, yes much better than the Citi Golf and much safer. 61 000 km on the clock is nothing for that engine, hope you get a good bargain :)
 
I've checked around on prices and the price seems about par. I live in CT so all the other same options are actually more expensive. Only Joburg had 1 or 2 slightly cheaper. It's from a dealer, so peace of mind there. And they offered me more than I thought for my Golf...
 
We have a 2008. Great car, lots of space. Recently had its 90k serice (considered to ba a major service) and only cost me R2500 at my ex Honda mechanic (dealership qouted R6000). Brilliant cars. The same 1.5 engiine have been around for ten years and are in a lot of the current models.

Fuel efficiency: 6.5 l/100km highway and 8.0 l/100km in town.

My only problem is with road noise. Acommon Honda problem. Compared to a Polo it is extremely loud.

In my opinion: For town driving, you won't find anything better. For long distances, consider a Polo or Fiesta.

Yes I have read about the road noise being a bit louder. But that isn't a huge issue for me.

Haha wow that R6000 service scares me but i'm sure I can find somebody that does it cheaper.

R6000 for a major service ... eeek !! I'm only on 26,000 km, so I had better save up :whistle:

The road noise don't bother me at all. The steering is a bit sensitive though.
 
I have a 2009 1.4 LX Jazz with 165k on the clock. The only problem so far was when the aircon relay died. Bought it with about 34k on the clock and so far I'm happy with the car.

Service will cost between R2500 - R5000 depending on the service(Basic or Major).

fuel efficiency on the 1.4 is about 7-8L/100km urban and 6-7L/100km on the open road

Edit : Lots of space in the back if you fold down the back seats, you can comfortably fit a 13 Kg top loader washing machine in the back :-)

I'm presuming you saved some cash on delivery fees when you got that top loader? Haha :)

She never had an issue.

Well if we take it, the wife said she's going to need to park far away from other cars until she gets used to the length of it!
 
Just an update to all those that helped...we've decided to take the car. Should hopefully get it on Tuesday. Wife is over the moon.

I :love: my jazz. Its 6 years old but still going strong.
