2011 Hyundai i10 service intervals

I have a 2011 Hyundai i10 1.25GLS Auto which is exactly 1 year old today. The current mileage is just under 11000km.

Should I service it now at yearly intervals or do I wait until 15000km? The service centre advised me to rather wait until 15000km and said it won't affect the warrentee. I have heard of other manufacturers who voided warrentees because the vehicles weren't serviced within the 1 year period even if they haven't reached the 15000km service intervals.
 
wtf.. Its 15 000KM or 1 year, which ever comes first. Unless things have changed? I would double check NOW at another dealer.
 
Well, according to the Hyundai website, it states the service interval is 15000km with no mention of 1 year? It only mentions a service interval leeway of 1500km.
 
Hyundai Somerset West : Service intervals 15000km No time period
Hyundai Bellville : Service intervals 15000km or 1 year whichever comes first
Hyundai Milnerton : Service only every 15000km No time period
 
Very interesting, try get it in writing else I bet trade in time they are going to care about it ;)
 
most definitely 15000km or 1 year, book it in regardless, then report those 2 dealers to head office.
 
I just phoned the Hyundai customer care line (086-142-7222) and they told me that it definitely is 15000km, irrespective of the time period. I spoke to a lady by the name of Jessica.

Get a reference number, and then send an email in to hyundai head office themselves and ask them so you can get it in writing. Better yet post a complaint on hellopeter ask for a written response to what the actual real service intervals are.
 
I am away from home for a few days but will look in the manual when I'm back at home. The Service Adviser did say it should be in the manual.
 
Here is a written response from Hyundai regarding the service intervals:

"Good day Mr Geezer

Kindly receive this email confirming the annual service process and understanding of the guidelines. The guidelines are simple and should be followed when you are requesting an annual service. As you know, you are not obliged to service annually but if you meet the criteria and are on either a service or maintenance contract, Liquid Capital will authorize this.

The most important criteria are that the vehicle must be within one month of its 12 month anniversary and should be mid service on kms. I understand there will be certain cases were there will be less than 7500kms per year done and you would qualify outside the criteria set however we have always asked the dealers to use their discretion when evaluating your needs, so if you are going to reach your service mileage within the next 18 months cycle from the vehicles anniversary then you rather wait till the service period.

Please also note that our policy is service mileage period. This does not conclude that because you had a service at 12 months that you can skip a service mileage and wait till the following 12 month period to service again.

I hope this clears it up.

Hyundais need to go in every 2500km or 4 weeks. Period

Thanks for the post. I got my i10 in Feb this year with a maintenance plan. I now understand why the dealership told me 15K or 12mths and this makes sense when taking a plan.

Also somebody explain on another thread why its important to service if you drive short distances like me (450km a month) as your oil gets trashed quicker.

Was anyway planning to take my car in on Feb but was under the impression that the next service would be the next 15K or 12mths !
