I have a problem with my car..i hear funny squeaks coming from the fron and back suspension whenever there is movement in the car, whether its people getting in or out of the vehicle, including me the driver ! Also there are funny rattles coming from the back as if there is something amoving around in the book. All these "symptoms" happen for a while, maybe a day or so then they vanish, only to come back after like 3-5 days.

What might the problem be ?

Is your polo a "vivo" if so, thats the problem

Reminds me of a knocking sound in my Polo whenever the car went through a turn or accelerated/braked. It sounded like somewhere in the body. After hours of searching in vain, I found the problem when I looked for my torch and found it in the cubbyhole under the drivers seat. From then on no more knocking sounds. Hehe....facepalm.

No its not a Vivo.. 1.4 Comfortline. As i said, this comes on and off again, and guess what, today there is no sign of it. I will have to take it in during the holidays or something because i cant go a day without it, and campus is t0o far to walk hehe

oooo a topic i can actually help with :D

had the same prob with our polo comfortline as well. took it to the mechanic and he said its quite a common problem on the polo's something to do with the control arm. anyway he changed the bushells (sp) all round and the noise went away... happiness

Bushings (or commonly referred to as a bush or bushes).

@dubeh,

On a 2011 model car the bushes should be fine. Think back to when the noise occurred, it probably happens when dry and disappears when you drive in wet weather. You can test this by hosing your cars suspension components down with water when you hear the noise.

You can lube the bushes but be careful what lubricant you use as some of them (petroleum based) will attack the material the bushing is made of. Silicone or Teflon based lubricant/grease should be ok but verify this beforehand.
