Hi all,

We recently bought a 2014 BMW. The other day I parked the car, locked the doors via the remote and realized that I forgot something in the car. Without thinking, I pulled the door handle and the car door opened. I checked and the button on the door was not all the way down. I taught ok. Glitch. Closed the door, button went down all the way, tried the handle again and it opened. Did this a few more times and then the alarm went on.

Did not think much of it then as I locked the car and all was fine. Drove the car home later that day and decided to test it again. The same issue but this time the button went all the way down. This seems to happen now and again, not all the time.

I also tried it with the spare key thinking it could be a battery problem but had the same issue.

Anyone else had an issue like this? If you did. What was the problem?

So I'm going to ask perhaps a very silly question but you don't have keyless entry?
So it's unlocking cos it senses the key?

Good question. It is keyless. But the alarm should not have trigered if it dedected the key. Also the other day, parked the car, locked it, did not check as I was in a hurry and forgot, went off to do my business, came back, pulled the handle and the car opened up and the alarm sounded.

Also tested a few times when I checked that the car is locked, pulled the handle to make sure. Go do my business. come back and pull the handle and it is still locked with the key in hand.

It would have been cool to have the car dedect the key in my pocket so I do not have to unlock the car when I my hands are full.

2014 model should still be under motorplan. Take it to BMW to get it sorted.

Hi
Just experienced the same problem. Did BMW resolve it and what was the actual fault.
